Emerging Consulting Group (ECG) is a consulting firm based in Kabul, Afghanistan with an office in Virginia, United States. ECG specializes business consulting, local government relations, project management, financial management, local tax compliance and financial audits.

ECG is seeking a Translator/Interpreter for its office in Kabul, Afghanistan to support clients (local and international organizations). He/She will take the lead role in translating legal and tax documents from relevant government agencies including ACBR, Tax Offices, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Labor and Passport Agency to ensure local and international parties are supported fully with our translator interpretation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Must have a University Degree or equivalent field qualification.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in translation or Interpretation.
• Excellent communication skills including fluent in English language with strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Summary:

The Translator/Interpreter will take a significant role in assisting various clients, often working on several engagements simultaneously. This requires the ability to work independently and translate normal and legal documents. The translator/Interpreter must be able to manage client relationships and show a deep commitment to excellent customer service. The translator/Interpreter will be working with the President and other team to build a well-trained and professional team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following:

• Translate correspondence, official letters, inquiry letters, and relevant documents from Dari to English
• Translate correspondence, official letters, inquiry letters, and relevant documents from English to Dari
• Submit translations on assigned deadline;
• Proofread and edit and/or revise documents before submission;
• Ensure accuracy of jargons and terminologies in the translated documents;
• File all translated documents in hard and soft copies properly;
• Provide other support and tasks related to translation.
• Maintain the strict confidentiality of the ECG and its clients’ records, business information and other information not available to the public.
• Fully comply with policies procedures of ECG and the Clients, including security procedures and protocol.
• Maintain a high standard of ethical behavior and avoid unethical and unlawful act that would impact the image of ECG and/or its clients.
• Any other duties assigned by ECG or requested by the clients.
